Social Pics: Hidden Ireland Book Launch

The Little Museum of Dublin was the venue for a celebratory coming together of Hidden Ireland members and friends on Tuesday night, who gathered to formally launch Hidden Ireland – Discover Ireland’s most beautiful houses.

The lavish new publication documenting some of the country’s most fascinating homes, published by Blackstaff Press.

Gorgeously illustrated with lush photography by James Fennell, and with perceptively written text by the?antique’dealer and stylist Josephine Ryan, both James and Josephine were present on the night?and spoke with great passion, insight and humour about the work they shared documenting these magnificent homes.

Hidden Ireland houses are united by their owners? authentic old-school Irish hospitality, so canap’s were served using produce from member houses including Bertha’s Revenge gin-cured organic salmon gravlax on homemade blinis from Ballyvolane House in Co. Cork. Guests also enjoyed B&Ts using Bertha’s Revenge, the distinctive Irish artisan milk gin, as well as the flagship beer of the Manor Brewery, Ireland’s highest brewery in the Wicklow Mountains – Mont, a ‘super premium’ craft lager – made by Hidden Ireland members, the Cully family of Kilbride Manor.

Chairperson of Hidden Ireland, Justin Green of Ballyvolane, officially launched the book, congratulating the publishers, author and photographer on a stunning job, impeccably done, and remarking that he expected there would be many Christmas stockings around the country this year with a large book-shaped package in them to thoroughly delight the recipients.
