Dublin gets set to celebrate its historic and contemporary connection with literature by welcoming some of the biggest stars from the literary stage to the city this May as International Literature Festival Dublin (ILFDublin) returns from May 20th to 29th. Celebrating words, language, literature and reading of all genres, ILFDublin will feature over 60 events in over 18 venues across the Capital City over nine days; from readings, discussions, interviews and debates to workshops, masterclasses and performances. ILFDublin is a Dublin City Council initiative with funding support from The Arts Council.

Historically renowned for bringing the best Irish and international names to Dublin, this year’s festival features a stellar line-up of writers including Susie Orbach, Patrick McCabe, Ruby Wax, Elizabeth Strout, Colm T?ib?n, Lisa McInerney, Richard Dawkins, Sally Rooney, Will Self, Madeleine Thien, Du?an ?arotar, Raja Shehadeh, Bettany Hughes, Dorit Rabinyan and Richard Ford; poets Michael Longley, Leontia Flynn, Kerrie O’Brien, Paula Meehan and Peter Wawerzinek; journalists Patrick Cockburn and Mary Fitzgerald; filmmaker Xiaolu Guo; historian Avi Shlaim; and economist and former Greek Minister for Finance Yanis Varoufakis. Previously announced participants include Norwegian crime writer Jo Nesb? and acclaimed producer, director, author and actor Werner Herzog.
