The world of social media progresses in line with life’s relentless pace; we have to move with it. What was engaging content a year ago is now background chatter; organic reach is becoming a challenge; Instagram is on the rise, while Snapchat’s popularity is waning and the dominance of video is just beginning.

On Tuesday, 26th June guests arrived at the stunning Merrion hotel and enjoyed a gorgeous Ruinart champagne reception where sommelier Julie Dupouy talked about the history of the champagne and discussed the matching canapes prepared by the Merrion hotel.

As soon as the guests took their seats, IMAGE contributing editor Melanie Morris introduced our speaker for the night, Lauren Murphy, head of social at Goosebump. Over the space of an hour, Lauren informed the audience and fellow businesswomen on how the emergence of social media influences the society and the social order. She went through the main characteristics and insights of social media and distinguished what makes it popular among the larger audiences, emphasising the importance of incorporating these platforms into all businesses.

Luxury seat gifts included Emma Soy candles, Hazel Mountain chocolate and Gallinee beaute body milk. Three lucky attendees also left the event with a blow-dry voucher for OSLO.
