Sligo Design Week 2015
Sligo is shaping up for its Design Festival with workshops, talks and exhibitions galore, running until this Friday, November 6. There’s no better time to head west…
If you’re a budding craftsperson, then this is certainly the festival for you, with workshops and talks not just promoting established makers but also training the next generation on social media and creative entrepreneurship with tips from local experts.

Illustration takes centre stage with workshops by artist Noelle Healy and an exhibitions “Beyond the Veil” by fantasy artist Wayne O’Connor at the Hawks’s Well Theatre focusing on the magical and mythological. Wayne will be giving free guided tours of the show on Saturday November 7 and Saturday November 14.

Not to be missed is the ‘Meet the Makers Tour’ hosted by Imenda of Made in Sligo. This takes you to the studios of some of the county’s top craftspeople including woodturner Matt Jones, ceramicist Lynda Gault and the O’Riain Pottery Studio. With a free lunch to boot, this is shaping up to be a perfect way to spend a Sunday.
