The Pitch is an exciting new collaboration between IMAGE and Samsung. We’re offering up to €100,000 worth of career-boosting prizes to one female entrepreneur, who is making waves in her industry.

The Pitch aims to seek out the best of Irish talent and give them the technological tools to succeed and compete at the top of their industry. At our special event on July 25th, the finalists will pitch their business to a panel of 5 diverse and exceptional judges.

Taking her place on this panel is Linda Nolan, Head of Marketing for Samsung Ireland. Linda knows all about a good pitch; she is an expert in generating excitement and promoting products. With 17 years’ industry experience, Linda has seen her area of expertise grow and change rapidly. She embraces the importance of being digital-first.

Here, she answers a few of our questions:

What was your big break?

That would be my recent promotion to Head of Marketing for Samsung Ireland.  I love working at Samsung, such an exciting and innovative brand that is constantly bringing out the best in technology, so to be promoted to Head of Marketing for all of Ireland was a proud moment for me. I had several breaks over the years which led to this moment. I started in a marketing role with Hewlett-Packard 17 years ago and worked my way to this point.

Where do you have your best ideas?

When I’m in the gym or out walking with music full blast in my ears.

Who do you admire?

My mum.  She is an amazing woman and if I look like her when I get to her age, I will be thrilled!

Do you ever doubt yourself?

All of the time. We’re only human so it’s natural to doubt yourself. A little bit of doubt can be a positive thing though; it doesn’t have to stop you from overcoming obstacles and reaching your goals.

How do you relax?

It’s tough to get time to relax as a full time working mum of two energetic boys, but a good book with a glass of wine (at the weekends!) is a great way to unwind.

And what about you? Maybe you’ve got a business that’s been brewing for a while, or you’re a self-starter who knows that her product is going to change the world. IMAGE and Samsung want to help. We’re offering female entrepreneurs and business owners the chance to win up to €100,000 of business-boosting prizes that will drive your business to where it needs to go. Enter The Pitch and rise to the top of your industry – it all starts with filling out the application.

So, get pitching!
