Princess Beatrice reportedly marries Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in secret ceremony

Multiple sources have confirmed Prince Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in secret at Windsor on Friday

The couple were due to tie the knot at the Chapel Royal of St James’s Palace at the end of May but cancelled the ceremony in March due to the pandemic.

The intimate wedding took place at the All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park with strict social-distancing measures in place and just 20 guests present (weddings with up to 30 people are allowed to take place under current UK government guidelines), including the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh who was seen driving into the estate. It’s believed that the princess’ parents, the Duke and Duchess of York, were also in attendance, as well as her sister, Princess Eugenie.

This was apparently also confirmed via a statement from Buckingham Palace.

Mozzi is a businessman in the property development industry. Princess Beatrice split with her former partner Dave Clark in 2016 after a decade of dating.

Regardless of the pandemic, unlike other royal weddings, including her sister Eugenie’s in 2018, Beatrice’s nuptials were not due to be broadcast on television amid controversy surrounding her father, Prince Andrew, and his relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

It was reported that Mozzi’s three-year-old son Christopher from his first marriage was to be his best man, which would have made him the youngest best man ever at a royal wedding. He was asked by the couple as his now stepmother Beatrice, wanted him to be included in every aspect of the day. It’s not yet been confirmed if this was the case.

The couple announced their engagement in September last year after a year of dating.
