?No one won more hearts? – Sheryl Sandberg’s Moving Tribute To Late Husband

Sheryl Sandberg

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg has spoken about?her late husband, Dave Goldberg’s tragic and untimely death. In a touching tribute, Sandberg fondly remembered her husband in her commencement address to Beijing’s Tsinghua School of Economics and Management, according to the Daily Mail.?

The Lean In author mentioned?four key points of leadership in her speech, one of which spoke of great leaders, and the qualities they should have. One such leader, she said, was her husband.

?Great leaders want to elicit genuine enthusiasm, complete trust and real dedication. They don’t just win the minds of their teams, they win their hearts,” she said.

?No one won more hearts than my beloved husband Dave Goldberg, who passed away suddenly two months ago. He raised the performance of everyone around him, ” – Sheryl Sandberg

?No one won more hearts than my beloved husband Dave Goldberg, who passed away suddenly two months ago. He raised the performance of everyone around him,’ she added. ?He did it as CEO of SurveyMonkey, a great company he helped build, and he did it for me and our children.?

Dave Goldberg died in a tragic accident while holidaying in Mexico just eight weeks ago, at just 47 years of age. The death was sudden and shocking and the reaction to this tragic incident was one of pure disbelief.

Sandberg then shared a quote from a friend who described Goldberg as having “showed us all exactly what being a great human being looks like, but it was never frustrating because Dave’s greatness was not competitive or threatening. It was gentle, inspirational and egoless. He was the quintessential standard for the notion of leading by example,” she continued.

ICYMI: Sheryl Sandberg’s Note To Her Husband Is Heartbreaking

Soon after her husband’s death, Sheryl penned a heartbreaking and emotional public letter to him on social media (which went viral, getting over half a million clicks), detailing the profound effect his death would forever have on her life, and that of her children.

?I have lived thirty years in these thirty days. I am thirty years sadder. I feel like I am thirty years wiser. I have gained a more profound understanding of what it is to be a mother, both through the depth of the agony I feel when my children scream and cry and from the connection my mother has to my pain,? she wrote.

?When people say to me, ?You and your children will find happiness again,? my heart tells me, Yes, I believe that, but I know I will never feel pure joy again. Those who have said, ?You will find a new normal, but it will never be as good? comfort me more because they know and speak the truth,? she continued.

This is just a fraction of her?touching note, which is a necessary read and hugely emotional. Read it in its entirety here.

According to the Daily Mail, Saturday was said to have been the first time Sheryl spoke publicly about her late husband’s passing.
