People are buying kitsch memorabilia for the royal wedding

What are your plans for the day of the royal wedding? Perhaps you’ll eat a bowl of royal-inspired cereal, or maybe you’ll go swimming in a Prince Harry bathing suit. Either way, there are plenty of themed memorabilia for you to indulge in on the day.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will tie the knot on Saturday 19th May, and opportunists everywhere are cashing in on it. Shops as far away as Los Angeles have been selling Harry and Meghan-inspired accessories for weeks; many have been selling out. “It’s absolutely unbelievable,” said Dympna Madeley at the Ye Olde Kings Head gift shop in Santa Monica. “We brought stuff in and thought we might not sell it, you know, and it was gone in the first week. We were like, ‘Oh my God’,” she told the Straits Times.

The wedding ceremony, which takes place at 12pm in St George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle, will be broadcast live on both the BBC and Sky News. Until then, have a look at some of the most kitschy memorabilia on offer.
