Little Green Spoon’s Dark Orange Chocolates

Little Green Spoon’s Dark Orange Chocolates

These are the perfect healthy Halloween treat. Recently I’ve been loving orange chocolate and with the week that’s in it, the colour combination is perfect. I use orange zest for the zingy orange flavour but you can use a little orange extract too if you like, although it can be tricky to find. The zest gives these beautiful flavour and the dark chocolate is perfectly rich with a yummy sweetness and so satisfyingly snappy, just the way I like it.

Ingredients:
Makes 10-12

100g of Cacao Butter
4 Tablespoons of Cacao Powder
2-3 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup
Zest of 2 Oranges

Step 1: Put a saucepan on low-medium heat and add in the cacao butter. When it’s all melted, take it off the heat.
Step 2: Add in the cacao powder and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and whisk well. Taste it for sweetness and add in another tablespoon of maple syrup if needed.
Step 3: Zest your oranges and whisk in the zest.
Step 4: Get your chocolate moulds (silicone ice trays work well too) out and whisk your chocolate once more. Use a spoon to fill the moulds one at a time, whisking the mixture a few times to stop the chocolate and sweetener from separating.
Step 5: Pop the moulds in the fridge to set and then serve.IMG_8922This recipe is gluten free, dairy free, vegan and paleo. For more healthy recipes check out www.thelittlegreenspoon.com and follow Indy on Instagram @thelittlegreenspoon and Twitter @littlegspoon
