Jysk opens a new Irish location and launches their snug winter collection this month

The fifth Jysk Irish shop is set to open this month, right on time for the release of their latest Christmas collection.

Danish lifestyle brand Jysk has been busy over the last few months, putting final touches on their upcoming Christmas collection, while also kitting out a new Irish store ahead of the opening next week.

Following on from openings in Naas, Drogheda, Navan and Portlaoise, the latest location is set to be in Youghal, Co Cork. Opening on November 14, the homewares shop can be found in the former Lidl building in Greencloyne.

So if you’re planning to hit up the new Co Cork shop, or simply fancy a peruse in the other four locations, here are the picks of the new winter collection to keep an eye out for.

Jysk is already known for its excellent value furniture, like these Trappedal oak shelving units, €90. But their latest collection places the emphasis on accessories and layering, like the textured little Verdit Christmas trees in the top left, €7.99 each.

Focusing on the small details this winter, we love this Erling serving tray, €12.99, and Josef bowls, €6. Ideal for a movie night in with popcorn and hot chocolate.

If you’ve grown attached to your outdoor area over the summer and don’t fancy surrendering it to the elements this winter, Jysk has got everything you need to keep you warm and toasty, from Tak faux lambskin throws, Maderup table and Virum benches to the twinkly lights of the Ygghrasil tree.

Festoon cold corners with these berry-red Edlarit twigs, €3.99 each, in the Manfred vase, €7.50. Add some string lights into the vase for extra sparkle.

Putting up outdoor lights can be a drag – finding a ladder tall enough, figuring out how to tie them to the gutters or artfully distribute around a tree – only to find that one of the bulbs isn’t working or the cord isn’t long enough. Save yourself the hassle with these outdoor trees, from €12.99.
