Interiors expert Helena Fox shares her favourite room in her Kerry home

Welcome to IMAGE.ie’s new Look Inside series. It’s all about real people’s real homes – our favourite part of our home and why we like that particular space so much. Every week, we’ll catch up with Irish creatives to learn about their favourite corner of their house; this week, it’s Helena Fox, founder of Helena Fox Interiors.

Kerry-native Helena Fox founded her business Helena Fox Interiors in 2018. “For as long as I can remember, design has been something I’ve held close to my heart,” she writes on her website. “Throughout the years though, one form of design has interested me more than others: interior design.”

“When executed properly,” Helena says, “interior design can paint a picture of who we are as individuals and transform a room, home or work environment, into something that has true meaning and essence.”

Helena’s favourite space

On a day-to-day basis, the mum-of-two offers experienced interior design work, including assisted shopping and home decluttering, to families and businesses who want to transform their spaces. Given her extensive experience and eye for style, we couldn’t help but wonder about Helena’s own home design.

Here she opens up about her favourite room in her house – the kitchen-cum-dining room and cosy den area  – explaining why she likes this particular space so much.

“These photos encapsulate my space where I love to cook in my Siematic kitchen,” Helena tells us. “I enjoy entertaining in my dining area, which consists of a Rolf Benz dining table and sideboard; then to relax and watch TV in the comfort of a fitted firewood stove by Delonghi.

“This comfy zone is full of warm, rust tones to complement the kitchen/dining space, which is decorated with simple greys, stainless steel and glass-textured accessories, whilst promoting my minimalistic approach to interior design.”
