Halle Berry And Olivier Martinez Are Divorcing

Actors Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are set to divorce after just over two years of marriage, according to reports this evening.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce,” the couple said in a joint statement to People. “We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing but happiness in life, and we hope that you respect our and, most importantly, our children’s privacy as we go through this difficult period,? they added.

Sources suggest that the split is amicable and that the pair – who have two-year-old son Maceo-Robert together – are ‘doing okay.? Berry also has a seven-year-old daughter Nahla Ariela with former partner, model Gabriel Aubry, and both are reportedly still caught up in a very nasty custody battle over their daughter.

The Oscar-winning actress met French actor Martinez on the set of Dark Tide in 2010, and they were married three years later. They tied the knot in July 2013 in Martinez’s native France while Barry was pregnant with their son.

The Monster’s Ball star has referred to Martinez as ?The One,? on previous occasions, and it is always sad to hear of a split, particularly when there are young children involved. The couple was said to have ‘drifted apart? thanks to hectic work schedules and hence decided to call time on their union.

This will be Berry’s third divorce and Martinez’s first. Berry was previously married to US sportsman, Yankee David Justice, from 1993 to 1997, and R&B singer Eric Benet, from 2001 to 2005.

2015 has truly been the year of splitsville in Hollywood. From Avril Lavigne to Gwen Stefani, Megan Fox and Ben Affleck, the past twelve months has not been kind to these once loved-up pairings.
