Food, tech and trad: get ready for the weekend with your What’s On guide

Sweet, sweet payday has arrived and we are so ready for the weekend this week. Get some delicious grub at the Vegan Foodie Festival or get some culture at the other wonderful festivals taking place around town. Happy weekend from IMAGE!

All weekend: Be a feeder at the Vegan Foodie Festival

Some of the biggest and best restaurants in Dublin are taking part in this year’s Vegan Foodie Festival, including gems like The Bombay Pantry, Blazing Salads and DiFontaines. Head to any and every one of the growing list of eateries (with discounted menus available for the weekend), and tag your foodie journey on social media to spread the word.

All weekend: Go back to your roots at TradFest 2019

Starting out over ten years ago as a small niche festival in Dublin, Tradfest has grown to an insitution across the city, showcasing the very best in traditional music that the Irish have to offer. There’s something beautiful about keeping a tradition such as this alive, and the massive selection of performances and events taking place this weekend (including food trails, tributes and loads more) is definitely a good way to ignite your inner Irishness.

On Saturday: Be inspired at the Dublin Smartphone Film Festival

A new (and very cool) idea for a film festival, Dublin Smartphone fest is focused entirely on projects shot on smartphones — which are increasingly common, and increasingly well made. Nowadays, creativity knows no bounds, and you definitely don’t need expensive equipment to get a start on something that inspires you. Head along for some inspiration, or just to enjoy the young talent that’s coming out of the Irish film scene.
