Diet Hacks: What You Should Eat To Help Your Fitness Regime

An essential part of a successful fitness routine revolves around food and what we choose to put into our bodies. As well as being aware of the nutritional value of the foods you eat, you can also aid the overall process of getting into shape via your diet; adding specific items to it so as to really see benefits.?We ask personal trainer Damian Hall?what things can we add to our diet to help the fitness journey.?

Quite often, people need to get their house in order from a?nutritional point of view before they begin to worry about small things; the food items that will add the extra percent or two of difference to their fitness routines.

Basically, there is no point in eating toast for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and pasta for dinner and expect that simply by also eating some grapefruit or chilli powder that this will make any sort of difference – it won’t.?Get the nuts and bolts (the basics) of your diet dialled in first and then think about looking for those vital extra differences.?

Here are four foods that I consume’day to day that will genuinely make an impact:

  • Apple Cider Vinegar – this has huge immunity benefits: it helps you feel fuller for longer, lowers cholesterol, helps with digestion and controls blood sugar levels hence aiding?fat loss.
  • Pre and Probiotic Foods – these aid’digestion and contribute to improving gut health, and a healthy gut = a healthy brain. These include Yoghurt, Dark Chocolate (85%), Pickles, and Kefir.
  • Fenugreek – this aids digestion as well as fat loss, it’s full of nutrients, has a large fibre content, controls blood sugar levels and naturally reduces cholesterol.
  • Cumin – this helps with immunity, lactation, cognitive function, digestion and insomnia.
