If you’ve ever spent an hour curled up with a coffee, flicking longingly through an interior magazine, you’ll realise that giving a home just the right amount of Christmas glitz is a lot easier when you have a spacious house to work with. When you’re apartment living, it’s often a little more difficult to find the right balance between delicious wintery d?cor and completely over the top Santa’s dungeon-style interiors.

We’ve handpicked a few gorgeous Christmas interior ideas that will suit any space, and as a lot of these ideas are DIY-friendly, they’ll also suit any budget.

Back to nature?

Whether it’s around your vases, or on top of a mason jar with just a tiny sprinkling of pine needles, pine cones tied to some simple neutral-toned string can Christmas-ify any corner. Added bonus: when the pine needles heat their oils will release around your apartment creating a lovely Christmas smell.

Sweet cinnamon scents?

Cinnamon isn’t just a tasty addition to your latte. There are so many beautiful ways to incorporate cinnamon into your Christmas d?cor, whether it be combined with orange slices on your tree (pictured), wrapped up in your Christmas dinner napkins or tied with string around your favourite candles. Of course, the heat will create more delicious smelling loveliness.

Branch out?

If you just simply haven’t got the space for a Christmas tree, it’s time to think outside the box. By substituting a few select branches like these and a couple of tea lights for Christmas lights, you can have just a tree that is just as elegant but less expensive and space-consuming. (Plus, it will leave far more room for all your presents.)

Another gorgeous way of using branches to add seasonal joy to a small space is to make your own iced branches using tacky glue. These would look great peaking out of a vase with a roaring fire behind it (or a hot chocolate if you don’t happen to have a fire place).

Blissful blankets…

When faced with infamously frosty Irish evenings, it is essential that your bedroom is as cosy as can be. We love this burlap layering with loads of pillows and a few stockings hung for good Christmas measure (pictured).
