Nars Cosmetics have announced their latest make-up collaboration – a 13- piece collection for eyes, lips and cheek with designer Erdem Moralioglu. The capsule collection embodies that which we instantly align with Erdem’s signature aesthetic – a dreamlike, feminine narrative and a lot of botanical references; a palette of ethereal shades of rosy nudes, peony petal blush and ditzy floral packaging.

Instant heroes are the near-holographic highlighting pencil, White Phox, six lipsticks all named after wildflowers – Voodoo Lily, Larkspur, Bloodflower – and the Poison Rose Lip Powder Palette, all housed in one of three original Erdem prints created for the collaboration.

“It was really interesting to explore my aesthetic in collaboration with Nars and see how far we could push different elements through colour and product,” says Erdem. “It was fascinating to develop new pigments and palettes as well as the cosmetics themselves.”

The Erdem for Nars Strange Flowers collection was revealed during the Erdem AW18 show. Speaking of the beauty look, Erdem said the inspiration came from “the combination of memories I have of my mother wearing a saturated red lip, mixed with the poise of the 1930s and 40s aristocracy. We used products from the Erdem for Nars Collection as they were created with this idea of strange flowers, which are beautifully complex and sometimes dangerous. The colours are bold yet demure, which worked perfectly for these looks.”

White Phox Multi-Use Highlighting Pencil

Val Garland created the beauty look backstage at Erdem’s AW18 show at London Fashion Week, using from the Erdem for Nars Strange Flowers Collection the White Phox Multi-Use Highlighting Pencil on the lips, the Ottoman Lip Powder from the Poison Rose Lip Powder Palette, Wild Flower Lipstick and the Night Garden Eyeshadow Palette.
