Our Speakers

Michelle Feeney

Michelle Feeney

Michelle is a visionary business leader who has created cult global beauty products and brands, gaining extensive knowledge of the sector with world-leading blue chip businesses in the US and the UK. Her approach has been shaped by three key factors; her uncompromising determination to create businesses which excel in their field; a natural talent for the creative challenge of developing successful cult brands, harnessing the power of committed and passionate teams of people; and finally, her core belief in the importance of corporate social responsibility.

Starting off in PR in the UK, she then moved to the US to set up her own agency, from where she was rapidly headhunted by Estèe Lauder Companies to work on their Prescriptives brand, her first experience of working globally. She then worked with Tommy Hilfiger and his team on launching his first ever fragrance globally. A further milestone came with the launch, in 1994, of Crème de la Mer; Michelle transformed the newly-acquired brand into an overnight success at the then unprecedented price point of $150. Promoted to be Vice President, Global Communications of MAC Cosmetics following their acquisition by Estèe Lauder Companies.

She was then appointed CEO of St.Tropez, with a brief to turn around their investment, she created a prestige global brand from a small UK business – not only building a $25m business in the USA but also continuing her commitment to socially responsible business ethics working with The Princes Trust. It was a tailor-made challenge to develop another globally successful cult brand with the importance of an approach based firmly on building the right team. Feeney’s visionary approach for St. Tropez resulted in the acquisition of St Tropez by PZ Cussons in 2010, when Michelle was appointed as CEO of their newly formed Beauty Division. She built a premium beauty portfolio from three disparate brands, Charles Worthington, Sanctuary Spa and St Tropez and went on to acquire the Australian haircare brand Fudge.

In 2017 Michelle launched her first own brand ‘Floral Street’, a modern British fragrance brand.
