All About That (Budget) Base

All About That (Budget) Base

Well here’s a nice little turn-up for the books: sitting down to pen this piece on the best new foundation offerings on the market, we realised our current favourites are not only easy on the eye, but easy on the pocket, too; there’s not a high-end purchase in the bunch!

In keeping with the current trend for lightweight, breathable bases that perfect, but don’t mask, the complexion, this trio will help create the illusion of naturally flawless skin.

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude, €12.99

Like YSL’s Fusion Ink foundation? You’ll get along nicely with this one, so, we reckon. Super fine and fluid, this silky feeling water-based foundation comes with a dropper, to deliver the perfect amount of product. No wonder it made our recent list of the best in budget beauty (link to https://www.image.ie/Beauty/Tried-Tested/Best-in-Budget-Beauty/ ).

IsaDora Nude Sensation Foundation, €23.25

Another water base, this is very similar to the Maybelline offering in offering weightless, buildable coverage that blends nicely on the skin and lasts well throughout the day. It also comes with a dropper for ease of application (required due to the runny nature of the product), and is available in six shades.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation, €8.99

If water bases aren’t your thing but you still want something that’s nice and light and gives that real-skin finish, then Rimmel have got you covered. This foundation is extraordinary; the formula is lightweight and hydrating, but long-lasting and semi-matte at the same time. ?The brand recently extended their shade range with 010, Light Porcelain, which should go down a treat on these shores. There’s an SPF of 20, too, as an added bonus.
