4 Irish Brands Heading to Maison et Objet Paris 2016

The revered?Maison et?Objet interior design trade fair will take place in Paris from?January 22-26, showcasing the work of almost 3,000 innovative brands. These four will be flying the flag for Ireland…

Taking place every spring in Paris, Maison et?Objet, which kicks off this Friday, gathers?the best of international interiors talent together. Over five inspiring days, this lifestyle design fair celebrates the work?of design studios committed to?”the art of living”. The Irish design community will be well represented at this year’s fair by the following four attendees…

1.. Mullan Lighting.?The industrious team of designers behind?Mullan Lighting will travel?from Mullan village, Co. Monaghan to Paris along with?their newest releases for 2016: the sophisticated?Comoro task?lamp (pictured at the top of this post), the’multi-directional Nico industrial table lamp, and an eye-catching contemporary chandelier featuring Edison-style filament bulbs, to name but a few.?(Hall 5B, stand H38)

2. Foxford Woollen Mills. Consummate Mayo-based weavers Foxford will be exhibiting their new cashmere collection designed by Helen McAlinden (pictured above) at M&O, plus?their expansive range of?throws, blankets and accessories in lambswool, mohair and merino. (Hall 3, stand A116)

3. Max Benjamin. Run by?brothers Mark and David Van den Bergh,?Max Benjamin?is rather adorably named after their nephews,?Max and Ben. Their display at M&O will include ridiculously gorgeous-smelling room fragrances and body care products as well as their hand-poured natural wax candles – including their newest range, the energising Coffee collection.?(Hall 5A, stand C16)

4. The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland. DCCoI‘s Maison et?Objet exhibition for 2016 will again be curated by Steven McNamara, winner of?the Institute of Designers of Ireland’s award for Exhibition Design of the Year 2015.?Steven has?previously?worked on’the Design & Crafts Council’s exhibitions for Wallpaper*’magazine and The New York Times, as well as designing exhibitions for?the National Craft Gallery in Kilkenny, London Design Festival and the?Architecture Awards of Ireland. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with for Paris… (Hall 7, stand E176.
