The Skin Nerd’s top tips for brides to be (or anyone who wants flawless skin)

If you’re a bride to be, or just someone interested in flawless skin, Jennifer Rock, The Skin Nerd (mother of all skincare, know-er of all things perfect skin) has shared her top tips for your most radiant skin. If you don’t know her, she’s an independent skincare expert, she’s lectured worldwide and worked with big beauty giants IMAGE, Yon-Ka and Environ. She also has an award-winning Cleanse Off Mitt.

The Skin Nerd’s Top Tips For Brides To Be

1. PREP IS KEY

“When planning the dress, psyche yourself up for the skin regime at the same time. Many wait until six weeks prior to their wedding and it may not be enough time to tackle any true concerns. Seek a consult as soon as the engagement party is over!”

OUR TIP: Visit The Skin Nerd Website

Jennifer set up theskinnerd.com for convenient online consultations. If you follow Jennifer Rock on social platforms you’ll see she’s had incredible feedback already and her clients are already seeing results. See you on the waiting list!

2. VITAMIN C

“Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful – a wonderfully exciting time, no doubt, but still a busy time, so be sure to up the multi-vitamin intake. Horse vitamin C into you – 1000mg daily to warn off colds while also strengthening capillary walls- bearing in mind red is the first colour to be seen on camera! I’d also recommend taking lysine to prevent cold sores!”

OUR TIP:Botanics Organic (from €9.99)

Botanics is good for your skin and your wallet. The Botanics Organic range starts from €9.99 and is powered by rosehip, which is rich in vitamin C, omega 3s and essential fatty acids. Buy the Botanics Organic range here

3. HYALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic is ideal to pump moisture into the skin and act as an added bonus to the two litre of water intake! It can be added to any serum, booster or moisturiser to soften fine lines and wrinkles- a touch into a body cream is also recommended for smooth hydrated skin. (This will assist in getting that flawless false tan application)”

OUR TIP: Vichy Mineral 89

Vichy Mineral 89 combines 89% Mineralizing Thermal Water and naturally derived hyaluronic acid, which holds 1000 times its own weight in water. Vichy Mineral 89 fortifies and makes skin more resistant to visible ageing caused by pollution, stress to skin, and fatigue. Make it the first step in your skincare or apply 2 drops on your skin after cleansing morning and evening.

4. OMEGAS

“Take omegas internally, ie, essential fatty acids in the form of supplements or oily fish. These will have the body wedding and honeymoon ready – helping keep it soft with less inflammation and stress breakouts.”

5. TREAT YO’ SELF SKIN

“Treatments such as the Environ HydraBoost is ideal to give the bridal glow. Try IPL and the Neostrata Peel three months prior and needling six months prior. Do NOT try anything new the month of the wedding unless advised by a facialist!”
