Going greener can be an expensive endeavour, but if you know about the right supports then there are plenty of savings to be had. Here’s the fund that will help your business start its journey towards sustainability.

For any business, reducing operating costs is a very attractive possibility. Allowing for profit maximisation and growth while expanding on sustainability measures, finding the bespoke solar energy solution that works for your business is of paramount importance — and this is where the Pinergy Solar Fund comes in.

Solar energy grants

Last summer, Pinergy launched their €30 million Solar Energy Fund, offering solar installations to businesses and removing upfront capital costs. Ideally suited to commercial energy users across a range of sectors including retail, hospitality, leisure, manufacturing, logistics, pharma and industrial (who have seen their grid energy costs increase in recent years), this fund was set up to accelerate solar transition to businesses across the country.

So, how does it work?

As part of this new service, Pinergy will design, install, and maintain solar PV installation in their clients’ commercial properties with no capital outlay for the business.

The client will agree to a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Pinergy to buy electricity generated by the solar panels which will be a lower cost than prevailing prices from the grid.

This enables commercial businesses to experience the benefits of a solar PV installation without the upfront capital cost, ensuring they can immediately benefit from the generation and use of renewable energy.

As a result, operating expenses and cash flow will improve because they’ll require less electricity from the grid, resulting in reduced energy prices and increased energy security for the next 25 years.

Who should apply?

Enabling businesses of all sizes with good roof space to utilise renewable energy to reduce their carbon footprint and move towards a more sustainable business model, the initiative is ideally suited to commercial energy users across a range of sectors including retail, hospitality, leisure, manufacturing, logistics, pharma and industrial, who have seen their grid energy costs increase in recent years.

Having recently been awarded the ‘Green Energy Company of the Year’ at the 2023 Chambers Ireland Recognition Awards, Pinergy were celebrated for stepping up in innovative ways to play their part in helping to make a positive impact on the environment.

The Pinergy Solar Fund is just one of many ways they are helping to make a difference. To learn more about this amazing opportunity for businesses and start making your solar transition today, visit Pinergy online.
