Sorry JB, Victoria Beckham ‘would rather die’ than wear the lilac Crocs you sent her

Sorry JB, Victoria Beckham ‘would rather die’ than wear the lilac Crocs you sent her

Justin Bieber sent Victoria Beckham a pair of lilac Crocs but it doesn’t sound like they’ll be getting the Posh Spice seal of approval anytime soon.

Crocs have been front and centre in fashion news recently. Between American musician Questlove appearing on the Oscars’ red carpet in a gold lamé pair, and now Victoria Beckham teasing fans with her lilac versions (sent to her courtesy of Justin Bieber), there’s been more talk about the comfortable clog shoe than just about anything else this week.

A very clever PR stunt on the Bieb’s part, the gift came from him and his fashion company Drew House who recently collaborated with Crocs for the second time. Apparently on the hunt for its next brand ambassador, getting someone as influential as style icon Victoria Beckham on board would be pretty major. Potentially feeling out whether the former Spice Girl, would be a good fit, JB sent her out a pair of lilac Crocs – complete with Jibbitz charms and everything. Safe to say, things didn’t go quite to plan though.

Saying that it was “so kind of Justin” to send her some Crocs, Victoria shared a video showing the shoes over on her Instagram stories. Asking followers to weigh in on whether she’ll actually wear them or not, she did admit that she had never done so before… a sure sign that she’s not a fan.

However, while the poll results suggest that it was a close call – the “no!” vote won by just 14% – Victoria was steadfast in her response, and I don’t think she ever had any intentions of donning the foam clogs in the first place. Confirming what most of us already suspected, she was quick to clear things up, resharing the poll and writing, “well that was close! I think I’d rather die but thank you anyway @justinbieber.”

Seems a bit dramatic to me, but to each their own I suppose.

Justin has yet to respond to Victoria’s snub but considering that his first Crocs collaboration sold out almost immediately, I doubt he’ll take it too personally either way. Notoriously divisive, I’m a longstanding supporter of the humble Croc… many others are not, but I’m confident that we, JB and I, will convert you soon. We’ve come around to a lot worse – low rise jeans?!
