Social Pictures: The launch of Kyne Foundation

06th Mar 2025

The launch of Kyne Foundation, a new charity with a focus on empowering youth in Ireland and Africa, served as a fundraiser to support a charity cycle in Uganda and was attended by guests including IMAGE, Tammy Darcy of The Shona Project, Brent Pope and more.

The launch event for Kyne Foundation, held in Dún Laoghaire Golf Club and attended by 150 guests, served as a fundraiser to support an upcoming charity cycle in Uganda to raise funds for a new hospital in Lumule in the Kitgum region of Uganda. The initiative, led by Dennis Okwera of Lumule Foundation, aims to provide essential healthcare services to the local community.

Founded by David and Jacqueline Kyne, Kyne Foundation’s focus is on empowering youth in Ireland and Africa, working closely with organisations dedicated to breaking down barriers to education and mental well-being. Kyne Foundation is committed to supporting grassroots organisations that are making a tangible difference in the lives of young people.

“We founded Kyne Foundation to strengthen connections within individuals, between communities, and across organisations,” says co-founders David and Jacqueline Kyne. “We believe disconnection is a silent epidemic – whether it’s on an individual level, impacting how we raise our children, or on a collective level, preventing collaboration. It stifles growth, hinders progress and blocks meaningful change.

At Kyne Foundation, we invest our resources and expertise in catalysing connections that spark a ripple effect of positive change. From supporting parents to build stronger bonds with children in Ireland to helping organisations in Uganda forge impactful collaborations – our work is sector-agnostic, fuelled by the belief that small acts of connection create the momentum for lasting change.”

The launch was hosted by broadcaster Claire McKenna and co-founders David and Jacqueline Kyne, joined by special guests Dennis Okwera (Lumule Foundation), Tammy Darcy (The Shona Project), Brent Pope (Elephant in the Room), Bernard Dunne and Pat Kane.
