Social Pictures: The Arnotts AW22 Season Launch

Arnotts unveiled their new autumn/winter 2022 collection last week, embracing a kaleidoscope of silhouettes, textures and patterns as we usher in the changing of seasons.

When was it?

Thursday 8 September

Where was it?

The Gallery, Arnotts, Henry Street, Dublin

Why were we there?

Attendees filed into the upstairs gallery area at Arnotts for a private fashion show of the new AW22 collection. Welcoming an incredible line-up of new brands across its contemporary and classic portfolios, the 40 different looks comprised pieces from designers such as Ganni, Sister Jane, Kitri, Baum und Pferdgarten, Norma Kamali, Michael Kors and Heidi Higgins to name but a few. Femininity in romantic styles dominates this season ranging from ruffles to delicate subtle prints, as seen at And Tate, Sister Jane and Essential Antwerp. A contemporary edge to the trend is embraced by Irish brands Fee G and Caroline Kilkenny through deeper dark hues and feather embellishments. Modern tailoring in a diverse mix of silhouettes featured heavily in the collection, combining boxy jackets and wide-leg trousers in checked patterns and neutral shades with Kitri’s silk separates which offered a more relaxed take on the trend.

This season designers are embracing texture with leather presented in a multitude of ways. Not limited to black, designers incorporated the look via leather dresses, jackets, shorts and trousers as a must-have staple for AW22. New label Kitri offers sleek leather coats in berry tones. Meanwhile, this season’s outerwear has been given a seasonal update thanks to brighter shades and unique detailing. Structured shapes with double-breasted cuts are key with tie detailing emphasising a focus on the waist, made popular at Baum und Pferdgarten and Hugo Boss. Layering up with ornate collared jackets in neutral shades is seen at Ganni while beautiful wool and tweed pieces are key at Essential Antwerp and Michael Kors.

And don’t expect colour to go anywhere either; from clashing pastel shades, to bold striking tones, colour in all its glory is making a statement for AW22. Varying from slouchy, relaxed pieces to full glamour dressing, a bold pop of colour adds drama and allure to any occasion.
