Whether you’re stuck in a career rut due to Covid, or are using your newfound downtime to seek new opportunities, it’s always helpful to have a goal to focus on.

In partnership with Springboard+, Ireland’s upskilling initiative led by the Higher Education Authority (HEA), IMAGE is hosting a free virtual event on August 13, giving you a chance to seize back control of 2020.

From the comfort of your own home, tune in to Niamh Ennis, a change and transformation specialist, Dr Vivienne Patterson, head of skills and engagement at the HEA and Claire McGee, head of education and innovation policy at IBEC, where they’ll cover a host of topics from the practical to the empowering about the future of work.

IMAGE group contributing editor Melanie Morris will moderate the information-rich panel.

WHEN: Thursday, August 13 at 8pm
Can’t make 8pm? No problem, the session will be available on demand for a limited time after we go live

If this sounds like the kind of thing you need right now, take a look at the topics we’ll cover:

Getting back to work: Whether at home or outside; tools to strengthen mindset and productivity; the role of routine; and the importance of self care and management.

The power of the pivot: So much has changed in such a short space of time, so we’ll address ways to upskill, stay relevant, and find new fire.

New horizons: Scanning your future career options and how to access information on the up-and-coming sectors.

Higher education: The advantages of adult learning and retraining; how to pick the right course; virtual versus in-class learning; the potential that comes from new qualifications.

Making it affordable: Free subsided Higher Education courses available and how to apply.

On the night, we’ll have plenty of informed insight, first-hand experience and case studies to share, plus through dedicated hashtags, we’ll answer as many of your questions as possible.

September is often seen as a time for new beginnings, and while 2020 has thrown plenty of curved balls in our way, here’s the chance to take back control and start over. And thanks to the Springboard+ this opportunity has never been more exciting, more relevant and easy to access.

What is Springboard+?

There are over 11,000 places on 332 Springboard+ courses nationwide in areas such as business, engineering, health, ICT, journalism and law. Springboard+ courses are 100% free to those not currently employed and 90% subsidised for those in employment.

There are also over 2,000 places on 79 courses available in 2020/21 through the Human Capital Initiative (HCI) Pillar 1 scheme.

Since Covid-19, the government has invested a further €10m in Higher Education programmes. To guarantee your access to this unique webinar with IMAGE, please register here now.
