12 Irish charities supporting Gaza and Palestine right now

These 11 Irish charities and organisations are helping to alleviate suffering and show solidarity with the people of Palestine.

As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza escalates, the situation on the ground has become increasingly dire.

With malnutrition rates soaring, particularly among children, millions are in urgent need of food, water, medical care and shelter. In response, Irish organisations are stepping up to provide life-saving aid and long-term support, from emergency relief and medical assistance to human rights advocacy and political action.

Whether through donations, awareness-raising or campaigning, there are concrete ways to help.

Here are 11 Irish charities and organisations you can support as they work to ease suffering and stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Irish Red Cross

The Irish Red Cross is supporting the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) as it delivers life-saving aid in Gaza and the West Bank under extremely dangerous and resource-limited conditions. In Gaza, where only 12 of 29 clinics remain partially operational, PRCS teams are providing emergency care, medical evacuations, mental health support, shelter, and rehabilitation services. In the West Bank, they continue to offer essential medical aid, including medicine and blood supplies. Here in Ireland, the Irish Red Cross is also assisting families of children from Gaza receiving urgent treatment under a government-approved programme, offering help with accommodation, transport and access to Arabic-speaking caseworkers to ease their transition.

Irish Aid

Ireland’s development and humanitarian aid to Palestinian communities plays a vital role in supporting a just and lasting peace in the Middle East. Focusing on the most vulnerable, including refugees in neighbouring countries, Irish Aid efforts prioritise education, capacity-building, humanitarian relief, human rights, gender equality and good governance.

Islamic Relief Ireland

Islamic Relief has been providing humanitarian aid in the Occupied Palestinian Territories since 1997, offering emergency relief, education, psychosocial support and vital services to families affected by conflict. In Gaza, teams continue to deliver medical assistance, bedding, food vouchers and shelter support despite severe restrictions. Since October 2023, the organisation has provided over €45 million in aid and delivered 70 million hot meals, though food supplies have now run out due to the ongoing blockade. As conditions worsen, Islamic Relief is urging continued support to help reach those in urgent need through its Palestine Emergency Appeal.

UNICEF Ireland

UNICEF is working urgently to deliver life-saving aid to children in Gaza. With limited aid corridors open, UNICEF is moving as much emergency relief across the border as possible, but support is desperately needed. It is now calling for urgent donations to help reach vulnerable children on the brink and provide them with the care and nourishment they need to survive.

Christian Aid Ireland

Christian Aid has supported vulnerable communities in the Middle East since the 1950s, beginning with humanitarian relief for Palestinian refugees. Today, its long-standing partners in Gaza are delivering vital support, including medical aid, food, shelter, sanitation and protection through community-led initiatives, helping those most affected by the ongoing crisis.

ActionAid Ireland

In Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, ActionAid’s frontline humanitarian workers, many of whom are displaced themselves, are risking their lives to deliver food, clean water, healthcare, blankets and shelter to those in desperate need. Despite facing daily danger, they remain committed to saving lives. With support, these workers can continue to provide essential aid and psychosocial care to traumatised communities. ActionAid is calling for urgent donations to help sustain this critical, life-saving work.

Concern

Since May 2024, Concern Worldwide, in partnership with CESVI, has been running a large-scale water, sanitation and hygiene programme in Gaza. The initiative is providing safe water to 200,000 people, distributing hygiene kits and supplying therapeutic food for malnourished children and mothers. In addition, the programme is supporting hospitals with critical water supplies to help keep life-saving services operational.

Trócaire

Trócaire works alongside Israeli and Palestinian partners to advocate for a just and lasting peace, while pushing for stronger action from Ireland, the UK, and the EU to uphold Palestinian rights and international law. A key focus is campaigning in support of the Occupied Territories Bill, which seeks to ban trade with territories under illegal military occupation. Trócaire has played a leading role in mobilising public support, engaging the media and amplifying the voices of those most affected by Israel’s settlement policies.

World Vision Ireland

World Vision Ireland is responding to the escalating humanitarian needs in Palestine by supporting vulnerable children, families and communities through urgent aid, safe spaces and psychological services. As displacement rises, World Vision is also preparing to assist in other affected areas and remains committed to providing ongoing support throughout the crisis.

Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) works to raise awareness of the Palestinian struggle for justice and freedom, while pushing for meaningful political change at both grassroots and government levels. Through public talks, cultural events and campaigning, the IPSC highlights human rights abuses in the occupied territories and advocates for a strong Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, similar to the campaign against Apartheid South Africa. It also lobbies the Irish government and the EU, organises educational programmes and supports Palestinian refugees in Ireland. Donations directly support this vital advocacy and awareness-raising work.

Sadaka – The Ireland Palestine Alliance

Sadaka focuses on influencing Irish and European Union foreign policy to support the national, democratic and human rights of the Palestinian people. Using well-reasoned arguments grounded in international law, Sadaka engages in direct lobbying and advocacy with Irish parliamentarians and MEPs to encourage pro-Palestinian positions. The ultimate goal of the alliance is to drive meaningful foreign policy changes that uphold Palestinian rights.

Comhlámh

Comhlámh Justice for Palestine is a volunteer group committed to raising awareness and taking action against Israel’s apartheid, colonisation and occupation. They highlight ongoing human rights abuses through public events, protests and collaboration with solidarity groups, while advocating for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) to challenge the system of settler colonialism and ethnic cleansing in Palestine.

Irish Artists for Palestine

Irish Artists for Palestine is a coalition of creatives across the island launching a series of solidarity events and fundraisers. Through artistic expression, they aim to raise awareness, support Palestinian artists and organisations, and strengthen cultural ties between Ireland and Palestine, using creativity to inspire resilience and advocate for freedom.
