Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift Land Vogue Cover
The ultimate celebrity BFFs on the fashion bible
We have a friendship crush on Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss. All those Instagrams. The endless legs. How they support each other as they both succeed enormously in their respective fields. Now Anna Wintour has decided to recognise the ultimate celebrity BFFs by putting them on the cover of American Vogue’s March 2015 issue. The result is glorious.
The cover shoot within the magazine is reminiscent of the road trip the pals took a year ago along Northern California. (We wrote about it here. See above for some holiday snaps.) Photographer Mikael Jansson depicted the pals on a high fashion road trip with outfits including Marc Jacobs, Alberta Ferretti, Gucci, Valentino, Michael Kors, and Bottega Veneta.
In an interview with the magazine Swift recounts how her and Karlie came together. The singer says, “People had been telling us for years that we needed to meet. I remember makeup artists and hair people going, ‘God, she and Karlie would be best friends.’” Model Lily Aldridge eventually introduced the platonic soulmates and the connection was instant, with Swift saying “We were just like, ‘You. My friend. Now,’”. The fateful meeting occurred at the 2013 Victoria’s Secret show and at last Winter’s London show, Kloss and Swift walked the runway together.
Kloss tweeted about the cover and was very proud of what she and Swift accomplished.
As the cover tagline says “Unstoppable, Inseperable, Adorable”.
