Here’s how calligraphy can add a personal touch to any event

In an increasingly digital world, the art of calligraphy is the perfect way to add a bespoke element that feels truly personal, whether it’s for invitations, place cards, or personalised gifts.

When’s the last time you received something handwritten? With most of our communication now taking place via screens, it’s becoming increasingly rare, which is why it makes it even more special when we do see it.

Birthday cards, notes of thanks, or wishes of good luck – we save handwritten messages for those that mean the most. That’s why adding a handwritten touch is an incredible way to make any event feel special.

Calligraphy by Laura is run by calligraphy artist Laura Chacon O’Neill. Having learned the art at just six years old from her mum, who is also a professional calligrapher, she has years of experience in creating beautiful things from paper and ink.

Based in Dublin, she uses her modern take on this traditional art to enhance everything from weddings to corporate events. She has worked with countless happy couples to make their dream day a reality through invitations, signs, and handwritten vows, as well as international brands to add a personal touch to events and media drops.

Laura also provides in-store engraving services for luxury brands to create a memorable gifting experience for their customers.

It’s bespoke details like these that really make an event stand out, and help it to feel thoughtful and considered. The personalised items also make great keepsakes.

She also offers calligraphy workshops as a team-building activity for organisations, and also has her own starter kit for anyone looking to learn this wonderful skill. It’s a meditative process that requires focus, great for taking time away from a busy schedule.

Calligraphy by Laura has reinvented the way we used to see calligraphy; her penmanship skills can be seen on iconic brands, in organisations and of course in the wedding industry. If you are looking to elevate your next PR event or to have stationery heirlooms for your wedding, Laura is the one! To find out more, visit calligraphybylaura.ie, or follow her on Instagram
