Peter Mark’s longest-serving staff answer the big questions: what are the biggest hair myths?

The longest-serving staff at Peter Mark want to debunk the hair myths they hear all the time.

Peter Mark’s Long Service Awards recognised 75 employees who have worked at Peter Mark for 10 years or more. Collectively those 75 people honoured today have over 1,400 years of experience in the hairdressing industry ranging from stylists to support staff

The biggest myth I hear from clients is “my hair isn’t growing” but what is actually happening is their hair can be brittle and prone to breakage and as a result is not getting any longer.

“If you don’t keep trimming your hair it won’t grow!” We need to remind clients hair grows from your roots, not your ends. That’s why maintaining a healthy, balanced scalp is so important in aiding hair growth. Nioxin products are incredible at not only cleansing but nourishing the scalp to encourage hair growth. Nioxin products can be prescribed by your stylist to suit your existing hair type and have a high success rate in aiding hair growth.

“A myth that I hear quite a bit is that washing your hair every day can ruin your hair’s condition. This is not true. Despite many people thinking that clean hair is flat and flyaway, clean hair, in fact, has more body because it has minimal oil weighing it down.”
