BEAUTY VIDEO: The New Lip

BEAUTY VIDEO: The New Lip

This season’s beauty looks are some of the freshest we’ve seen in a while. A delightful juxtaposition of propositions; graphic lines merge with subtle stains, dark toned lips mix with ethereal glitters, eyeliner gets a real girl re-work, and skin is fresh and sublime.

At the shows, make-up artists more than answered the call to create – their skill showcased via the interplay between precise technique and undone individuality. Which will you choose? Whichever you like – just harness your creativity and experiment – You’re in control, and it’s time to play!

THE NEW LIP

All change! If your lipstick wardrobe consists of sheer glosses and tinted balms, the game is up; it’s time to get serious. Lips get grown-up this season, and it’s all about multitextured deep oxblood and burgundies with precise, perfect lines. Keep this look clean and achingly modern by having the lips front and centre on an utterly nude face. Either play with 1970s levels of high gloss, or plushy, lush mattes – just charge it up to the max. And remember, practice makes perfect.

Oxblood lips make a ?great statement, and dark’shades look great on pale?Irish skin. Keep it looking?fresh by wearing nothing?else on your face.

Below, watch makeup artist Ailbhe Lynch create a striking two-step bold lip in the fifth of our AW16 trend videos and pick up the August issue of IMAGE to see the full season trends.
