Sometimes wonderful things come in equally wonderful packaging. The beauty products below are ample proof of that. Yes, occasionally?we fall in love with something a little harder because it looks so beautiful – and we are not ashamed. So what if it appeals to the girly-girl, buried deep inside? The important thing is that?as much effort has been put into making the cosmetics perform and fulfill their promises, as has been put into making them look as gorgeous as they are. The seven below will not disappoint in either matter.
ARTDECO Crystal Garden Blusher,??33.40
It may only be a hint of sparkle, but the Swarovski crystal embellished camellia ‘design on this blusher’s case is more than a little special. This little detail reflects the stunning flower formed on the blush itself, and the overall appeal is only enhanced by the subtle, floral scent of the product. Three pink shades form the set powder, giving you lovely, rosy cheeks, ideal for tackling the ‘romantic’ trend we have seen throughout beauty this last year.?An added bonus here is that?this case?is reusable. Once the blush has been used up, you can pop another ARTDECO blush?inside, as the box has a magnet attached that will keep the new addition safe and snug. Clever!
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupt? Shine in Rose Intime and Fuschia in Rage, €33
There is’real glamour and brilliance?in the casing on YSL’s Rouge Volupt?’s lipsticks. The heavy gold tubes, which have an immense shine, are only enhanced by the coloured panels (which reflect?the individual shades within), adorned with the brand’s classic logo in gold. Simple, but gorgeous! In terms of the lipstick itself, the texture is super buttery, with rich,?bold pigmentation. The shades are so varied that you can tackle any and every party look this season.
Illamasqua Insta Eye Gift Set, €60.95
Everything about this Illamasqua gift set is appealing. From the straight-talking?opening line, to the nude/pink/violet colour scheme and insect-inspired imagery, everything works beautifully, conveying a strong theme and drawing us in with it’s captivating aesthetic. Also, its shape and size makes it so easy to wrap… as insignificant as that fact should be, it really isn’t this time of year. The gel liner and mascara create a dramatic look,?but the real star is the Broken Gold liquid. Pop a few dots onto your eyelid and gently dab, blending it out. The liquid gives a soft shine, while the golden flecks throughout create a gorgeous sparkle.
Soap & Glory Extrava-Glam-Za,??65
This boudoir-inspired set is full of goodies that are as fabulous?as the box they come tucked in. True to their brand, this playful Soap & Glory gift set has a retro look, with a pop-up set inside, reminiscent of Parisian-style decor. The outside reflects the look of an extravagant townhouse. It’s ridiculously girly (in the best way possible) and provokes a sense of nostalgia, as its appearance is vividly reminiscent of the traditional dollhouse that many of us craved?as children.
The products inside include the Lid Stuff?eye shadows, in six shades, Thick & Fast mascara, Supercat liquid liner, Archery brow tint/pencil, Sexy Mother Pucker gloss and the Glow All Out face powder, as well as two make-up brushes for application. Honestly, everything you need is here. What’s not to love? Fab contents and a fab container!
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer,??30
So straight-forward and yet, so pretty, this bronzer comes in an understated compact, with a lovely, raised frieze of decoration?around the rim. It may be the inner history enthusiast talking, but there is something very appealing about the egg and dart ornament displayed here?(the design originating from Greek Ionic columns, no less!). The bronzer itself is the medium/deep shade, which works wonderfully on slightly darker skin tones, giving a warm lift to the face. It also works wonderfully as a contour, as the powder is completely matte. Perfection.
Benefit Soft & Natural Brows Kit,??38.50
We certainly couldn’t forget Benefit when discussing lovely packaging. They always surprise us with their quirky, distinctive approach to branding. It’s girly and loud, but that’s what we love about it. This brow kit is the perfect example.?Not only is the pink and silver box oh-so-nice, but the products themselves are delightful, space-age silver wonders. Included is the goof proof brow pencil, ready, set BROW! and the high brow pencil. In their cleverness, Benefit have also popped in?handy brow stencils for first-timer home brow-tamers.
Charlotte Tilbury The Rock Chick,??210
If you fancy splashing out and treating yourself, this Charlotte Tilbury set is just gorgeous. Not only does it come with a kiss-covered make-up bag, but the rose gold and black encased products are the personification of pretty elegance. Putting the wrapping aside for a moment, this is a little collection worth investing in. Once you have your foundation on, everything else needed is here. The bag contains the Feline Flick liner in Panther, Prime and Enhance shadows, Full Fat Lashes mascara, Lip Cheat pencil, Nude Kate lipstick, Lip Lacquer gloss and the Cheek to Chic Wish & Pop blusher.?All of your cosmetic cravings are sated!
