Summer’s sunniest new scents fuse freshness, florals and fruit with warming bases.
Glossier’s light Fleur, 50ml, €96, blends airy florals with the same musky base of their original You, also found in Balmain Blanc Galaxie, 50ml, €230, balancing five kinds of bright, sunny citrus.
Jo Malone has bottled summer in Beach Blossom, 100ml, €140, a cocktail of zesty lime and warm tonka bean defined as “fresh, solar and sensual but with a woody elegance” by Céline Roux, Jo Malone London’s Global Head Of Fragrance.
Roses, lily-of-the-valley, fruits and spices meet in Louis Vuitton’s latest eLVes, 100ml, €420, in what Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud describes as a “surprising hot-cold contrast bewitches the senses,” while florals and fruit bloom in Shisiedo’s Ginza Datura, 90ml, €139, too, with ylang-ylang, sparkling grapefruit and a woody blend that will last until the sun comes up.
Victoria Beckham Beauty’s stunning collection of fragrances now come in a dinky 10ml travel sizes, €64, if you’d like to test a tiny version before investing in a big bottle, but if you’re really ready to invest, her Portofino ’97, the sunniest of the bunch in a beautiful blend of citrus and wood, also comes in a showstopper fillable gold chain necklace to keep your sunny scent close.
