Own the Moment: with health & nutrition coach Kate Lenehan

To celebrate the launch of the all-new AI-enhanced Galaxy S25 series, Watch7 and Galaxy Ring, we invited Kate Lenehan – a health and performance scientist and nutrition coach – to show us how the powerful features of these new Samsung Galaxy devices can enhance your health and wellbeing.
Kate Lenehan spent years climbing the corporate ladder before she realised she was in “the wrong career”. “After almost a decade in the fast-paced world of corporate tech, I experienced firsthand how stress and poor health habits can take a toll, pushing our physical and mental wellness further down the priority list.
“In my spare time, I began exploring the world of wellness and quickly realised that true health isn’t about quick fixes, but long-term habits supported by the right mindset. This insight sparked a deeper mission: to help women find the key to sustainable health and happiness by discovering the sweet spot where wellness feels as good as it is good for them.”
That’s when Kate started her life coaching business – The Monday Coach – drawing on her many skills as a qualified sport and exercise scientist, pilates instructor, personal trainer, health and nutrition coach and life coach. Through personalised movement, mindset and nutrition programmes and her ‘back to basics’ philosophy, she empowers busy people to move beyond quick fixes by building lasting habits.
Find joy in movement and music
So, how does Kate help people kickstart their wellness journey? The first step is to ditch the word ‘should’. “Nowadays, it’s easy to get caught up in the latest health trend or quick fix, allowing the guilt of what we ‘should’ be doing to take over from the joy of what we ‘could’ be doing,” advises Kate. “Quick fixes ultimately fail because they don’t forge the necessary habits required for lasting behavioural change or consistency.
“The key to consistency is joy. If you don’t actually enjoy the latest exercise regime, wellness routine or diet, you’re not going to stick with it, because the body and mind will do everything possible to avoid pain and increase pleasure. The key is to shut out all the external noise (the ‘shoulds’) and think about what movement, grounding activities and nourishing foods actually bring you joy.”
Start by trying out three new forms of movement over the next month (ie Padel, Reformer Pilates, Aerial Silks). “Remember, humans evolved to move, so if you think you’re just not someone who enjoys or is good at movement, maybe you just haven’t found the right form of movement for you.”
Kate also recommends finding the right workout playlist, and the Samsung Galaxy S25 is ultra-convenient for this. “I’m always looking for song inspiration for my Pilates class playlists, and the Circle to Search with Google function on the Samsung Galaxy S25 is really useful for identifying music I come across. If I hear a song playing on the radio or on TV, I can quickly use this function to find out the name and add it to my favourite playlist.”
She also calls the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 “a game-changer”, whether it’s playing tunes during a run or having a quick meeting in between classes. “With the buds, I could barely hear anything going on around me due to the noise-cancelling function, even without any music playing. They transitioned seamlessly from work calls, to going on a run, to winding down with a meditation at the end of the day. The sound quality is so crisp, with a surprisingly rich bass for how tiny they are. The battery life also seems to hold up really well, and I love how quickly they charge in the case.”
Build lasting, healthy habits
Before you can start building lasting habits, says Kate, you need to redefine what ‘healthy’ means to you. “In the past, I saw being ‘healthy’ as a finite game, something to achieve, something that could be measured through a weighing scales and my appearance. But over the years, I’ve come to understand that true health is not just the absence of disease or the size of your jeans – it’s also a feeling. A feeling of vitality and happiness. If we’re not happy, then we’re not ‘healthy’.”
There’s a common misconception that health has to look a certain way or follow a strict routine, but Kate says the ‘healthiest’ people she works with are the ones who rest when they need it, move their bodies with joy, and see connection (with themselves and others) as a key part of their wellbeing.
A great way to help build these healthy habits is by tracking where you’re at and setting up reminders that work with you to help you achieve your goals. “I find the Energy Score on the Samsung Galaxy S25 gives me such a useful and quick snapshot of how ready I am to take on the day, based on my sleep, activity and heart rate,” says Kate. “The Now Brief and Now Bar pull together all of my health info into easy-to-read cards. It feels a bit like having a personal assistant in my pocket that also has my health in mind, reminding me of upcoming Pilates classes and other events, missed calls, as well as encouraging me to get to bed earlier.
“And the Galaxy Ring is a great option for more discreet wear as well. It is so light (much slimmer than other rings on the market) that I barely notice I am wearing it. It syncs so quickly with the health app to give a full, personalised picture of my wellness.”
Make it as easy as possible
We all know that the key to making a habit stick is by making it easy to adhere to – whether that’s laying out your gym clothes the night before, filling up a big water bottle to keep on your desk or using tech to encourage you and capture motivating moments.
For Kate, this means taking advantage of the enhanced AI features of the Samsung Galaxy devices in her day-to-day as The Monday Coach. “Even in low light, the clarity and detail the Samsung Galaxy S25 camera captures are so impressive. Whether I’m filming a recipe or a quick-moving workout video, or just snapping a quick photo, the results are really sharp and professional-looking.
“I particularly love the Hand Gesture feature (that activates filming). While filming a recipe, I don’t need to wash my hands to hit the camera button. All I have to do is raise my hand, and the camera begins filming. The Auto Trim video editing software is really user-friendly too, with lots of advanced features (e.g. adding transitions, text, music, etc.). One of the best parts is the tool that automatically turns my videos into a highlight reel. Usually, it takes me hours to pull together a recipe reel, but with the help of Auto Trim, it only takes a minute.”
Finally, Kate found the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 to be a runner’s dream. “I love the Watch7 – it has such a nice weight to it and the strap feels really durable. I especially love how the outer strap tucks into the inside, meaning it doesn’t catch my clothes while on a run or teaching Pilates.”
