An Irish Facebook group with almost 30,000 members is shining a light on menopause awareness. We spoke to the group's founder who was determined to see women's stories and struggles a topic of conversation – and on the Joe Duffy show too.

Menopause awareness in Ireland is, experts agree, severely lacking. According to statistics from Facebook, in 2021 over a three-month period alone, over 6,500 Facebook accounts in Ireland posted or commented more than 14,000 times about Menopause across the platform. And an Irish Times report last year said Menopause in Ireland now is “where mental health was 10 years ago” – barely a conversation, in other words.  To try to increase awareness and create a community...
