The Michael Schumacher documentary is your new must-see emotional watch
13th Sep 2021
SCHUMACHER features rare interviews and previously unreleased archive footage and traces a very sensitive and critical portrait of the seven-time world champion. This is the only film supported by his family.
Who else knew zilch about Formula One (F1) before the, quite frankly, amazing Formula One documentary series from Netflix?
That is what Netflix’s Forumla One: Drive to Survive does – turns you into an obsessive fan. You watch on the literal edge of your seat, breathe held, resisting the urge to Google what will become of your favourite drivers. I’m a nervous wreck, sweating, near tears as the drivers and teams are gutted as they either crash (the horror) or more frequently, the engine gives out at the very start, or often, at a crucial point in the race.
Those who loved that will be equally intrigued by this documentary on another Formula One legend, out this Wednesday.

Fully supported by Michael Schumacher’s family, SCHUMACHER features rare interviews and previously undisclosed archival footage and draws a very sensitive yet critical portrait of the seven-time World Champion. The documentary explores the many facets that made and define this complex athlete and accompanies him on his meteoric rise in this challenging and dangerous sport.
His strong will and triumphant fight to win against all odds put Michael Schumacher at the centre of global attention and his journey has captured the imagination of millions, but there is a lot more than motor racing to the success of this very private man.
As ever, at the heart of Michael’s story are his parents, his children, and Corinna Schumacher, his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life. They are now ready to tell his story.
SCHUMACHER will release globally on Netflix on September 15.
