Modular sofas are the solution to your living room woes

Modular sofas are the solution to your living room woes

From an awkwardly-shaped room to a space that has to suit several different functions, these flexible designs are the answer.

A sofa is one of the most important pieces of furniture you’ll buy. Not only does it form the focal point of your living space, but it defines how it will be used. A single sofa that faces the TV makes it hard to chat there with friends, but of course we want a cosy set up to enjoy an evening watching a film.

And while there are plenty of sofa shapes available, more often than not our homes have layouts that don’t quite fit with any of them.

The answer? Modular sofas. Made up of individual sections that can not only be arranged however you like, but can also be changed up as necessary, they’re perfect for hardworking spaces that need to adapt with your day-to-day life.

As well as rearranging them for alternative seating options, footstool sections can be pulled out to use as a coffee table, or as an extra seat when you have a full house.

They’re also future proof – you can start off with just a few sections, but if you move to a larger home or grow your family, you can simply add more, rather than having to purchase a whole new sofa.

Here are some modular designs that prove their versatility.
