July 3
The Sandman, Netflix
Starring Tom Sturridge, Season 2 of The Sandman will focus on Dream’s attempts to rebuild his kingdom and fulfil his duties, while simultaneously confronting the consequences of his past actions. As he transforms the palace, he vows to leave the past behind and look to the future. The past, of course, has other ideas.
Hot Milk, cinemas nationwide
Starring Emma Mackey and Fiona Shaw, Hot Milk is based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Deborah Levy. Rose and her daughter Sofia journey to the sun-drenched Spanish coastal town of Almería to seek out Dr. Gómez, a shamanic physician who might hold the key to curing Rose’s mysterious illness that has confined her to a wheelchair. In this sultry, sun-bleached setting, Sofia, who has lived her entire life overshadowed by her mother’s condition, begins to break free from her restraints, drawn to the magnetic allure of the enigmatic traveller Ingrid (Vicky Krieps). As Sofia embraces this newfound freedom, it clashes with her mother’s need for control. Under the relentless heat, old resentments and bitterness bubble to the surface, straining their fragile bond and driving them toward a powerful and emotional climax.

Trainwreck: The Real Project X, Netflix
In 2012, a teenage girl in the small Dutch town of Haren creates a Facebook event for her sixteenth birthday party that accidentally goes viral. Soon, the town descends into chaos as tens of thousands of people show up ready to party. Trainwreck: The Real Project X shows us exactly what happened.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Hulu
In Season 17 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the gang is still chasing money and leeching off societal perks, which means business as usual since 2005. But beneath the chaos, they’re still painfully human: desperate for love, respect, half-baked freedom, endless praise, theatrical levels of attention, instant gratification and unhinged, slapstick lust.
Ballard, Prime TV
Based on Michael Connelly’s novels, Ballard follows LAPD Detective Renée Ballard as she heads a newly formed, underfunded cold case unit. A spin-off of Bosch, the series sees Ballard digging into L.A.’s toughest unsolved crimes with the help of a ragtag team of volunteers while facing down present-day threats, including police corruption and the lingering voices of the past.
July 10
Too Much, Netflix
Created by Lena Dunham and Luis Felber, Too Much follows Jessica (Megan Stalter), a work-obsessed New Yorker reeling from a brutal break-up, who escapes to London for a fresh start, only to fall for Felix (Will Sharpe), a charming but chaotic musician with a penchant for sleeping until noon.
July 11
Dexter: Resurrection, Paramount+
Set just weeks after the Dexter spinoff, New Blood, serial killer Dexter Morgan (played by Michael C. Hall) miraculously survives his near-fatal gunshot wound and heads to New York City in search of his missing son, Harrison. But he’s not the only one on the hunt because Captain Angel Batista is tracking them both, closing in from Miami. Also stars Uma Thurman and Peter Dinklage.
Ireland’s Katie Taylor and Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano are meeting for a third and final time at Madison Square Garden, headlining an all-female boxing card broadcast live on Netflix. Taylor will defend her undisputed super lightweight titles in what promises to be a historic trilogy bout. Their rivalry has been razor-close: Taylor edged out a majority decision in their first clash at the Garden and claimed a unanimous decision in their second meeting on the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul undercard. It’s edge-of-your-seat stuff for Ireland’s greatest sports person.
Superman, cinemas nationwide
In this latest iteration of this classic superhero story starring David Corenswet, Superman must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as reporter Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice and the human way, he soon finds himself in a world that views these as old-fashioned.
One Night in Idaho: The College Murders, Prime Video
One Night in Idaho: The College Murders is a gripping docuseries exploring the aftermath of the 2022 University of Idaho student killings. Centring on the friends who first discovered the crime scene, the series features exclusive interviews detailing their harrowing experience. It also includes the first public statements from the parents of victims Ethan Chapin and Madison Mogen. Through personal accounts and emotional testimony, the documentary offers a deeper understanding of the tragedy’s impact on the victims’ families and the wider community.

The Summer I Turned Pretty, Prime Video
In the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, Belly begins a new chapter with Jeremiah at Finch University, but the return of Conrad, now at Stanford, reignites old feelings and unresolved tension. As the love triangle deepens, the trio must confront past heartbreaks and looming challenges to their future. The perfect summer watch.

Untamed, Netflix
Starring Eric Bana, Untamed is a gripping crime drama set against the majestic backdrop of Yosemite National Park. I Know What You Did Last Summer, cinemas nationwide
In this much-anticipated legacy sequel to the nineties classic, five friends inadvertently kill a pedestrian in a car accident, and they cover up their involvement to avoid consequences. A year later, as they try to move on with their lives, a stalker sends them taunting messages about their crime. Realising that the stalker is imitating a legendary serial killer, they seek help from survivors of the infamous Southport Massacre of 1997.
July 23
Washington Black, Disney+
Starring Sterling K Brown, Washington Black is based on the bestselling novel of the same name and follows the 19th-century odyssey of George Washington “Wash” Black, an eleven-year-old boy born on a Barbados sugar plantation, whose prodigious scientific mind sets him on a path of unexpected destiny. When a harrowing incident forces Wash to flee, he is thrust into a globe-spanning adventure that challenges and reshapes his understanding of family, freedom and love.
July 25
Happy Gilmore 2, Netflix
Nearly 30 years after his iconic Tour Championship win, Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) is coaxed out of retirement to finance his daughter Vienna’s elite ballet education. He’s back on the golf course, but this time, he must prove he still has the drive and skills to compete with today’s young PGA pros. Expect lots of laughs and cameos from some of golf’s top talent, including Rory McIlroy.
