Healthy chocolate pancakes for the guilt-free brunch of your dreams

I made chocolate orange protein pancakes and I take back everything mean I ever said about protein pancakes because these are lush.

For a long time, I resisted the protein pancake buzz but these indulgent ones will convert even the most staunchly anti-protein pow hater – except my husband, of course (see below).

Chocolate and orange protein pancakes
Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 banana
  • 18g protein powder
  • 2 teaspoons raw cacao powder
  • A pinch of baking powder
  • Zest of half an orange
  • Berries and Greek yoghurt, to serve

Method

Mash the banana loads, whisk in the egg white then add the protein powder, baking powder, cacao powder and zest.

Heat a non-stick frying pan, with a little oil over medium-high heat. Spoon in dollops of the pancake mix and cook for a couple of minutes either side. Serve with berries and yoghurt.

Tip: You need to be gentle when flipping these pancakes as they are a little more delicate than traditional pancakes.
