With stunning views, access to walks, and guaranteed tranquillity, these three homes have great locations.
We’re lucky in this country to have so many beautiful mountain ranges. They’ve been especially popular during the last 15 months, with people taking to the great outdoors in droves to get some exercise, clear their head and enjoy gorgeous views.
And while most are happy to visit once in a while, if you’re totally captivated by mountainous settings, why not choose a home that gives you great access to one? Here are three mountainside homes around the country for €150,000.
Coolecarra, Thurles, Tipperary, €150,000
This three-bed cottage sits on 10.72 acres of land and has five large outbuildings. Set within the Silvermine mountains, there are also several other mountain ranges in the wider area, providing plenty of options for walking.
The home itself has not been occupied in around a year, and would require some modernisation, however it is well-sized, and the amount of surrounding land means there is potential for extension, subject to planning permission.
It is situated around half an hour’s drive from Thurles, and 45 minutes from Limerick city.
Coumaraglin, Dungarvan, Waterford, €150,000
Set at the foothills of the Comeragh mountains, this three-bed home comes with 1.16 acres of land. Inside, it would benefit from renovation, but it has the benefit of a large outbuilding to the side of the house.
Located close to Mahon Falls, and Clonea beach, there is plenty to do in the local area, as well as the many walking options in the nearby mountains, while Dungarvan is just 20 minutes away.
Strafin, Carrick, Donegal, €150,000
Set in a mountainous region with views towards Slieve League, this three-bed farmhouse is in need of modernisation in parts, and sits on 18.5 acres of land.
It’s ideal for someone who is looking for a quiet location, as there are no houses in the immediate area, although Carrick village is just seven kilometres away for local amenities. It’s also around 45 minutes to Donegal town.
