Lilly Higgins’ No-Sugar Choc Ice

By IMAGE
24th Apr 2015
Lilly Higgins’ No-Sugar Choc Ice

Dairy-free, sugar-free ice cream that’s actually tasty? Image Interiors & Living food columnist Lilly Higgins shows you how (yes, there’s a surprise secret ingredient!).

Vegan, No-Sugar chocolate ice cream

Serves 2-4

YOU WILL NEED
* 3 bananas
* 1/2 tbsp €1 tbsp honey
* 1 tbsp raw cacao powder (or you could use cocoa powder)
* toasted hazelnuts, crushed

METHOD
1 Peel and slice the bananas, then place in a Ziploc sandwich bag and freeze.
2 Once frozen, tip the banana slices into a blender or food processor. Add the honey and cacao. Blitz until smooth.
3 Spoon into a sealable tub and return to the freezer for an hour or so.
4 Place scoops of the ice cream into a bowl and top with crushed toasted hazelnuts.

Pick up the May/June issue for Lilly’s fresh recommendations for healthy, family-friendly fare.

Like this? Then you’ll love Derval O’Rourke’s healthy, heavenly?flour-free chocolate brownies.
