UPDATE: Lamar Odom Reportedly Regains Consciousness

Update: Following the news this week that former NBA player Lamar Odom was rushed to hospital after he was found unconscious in Las Vegas, multiple reports have said this morning that Odom has regained consciousness and is responsive. According to ETOnline, the former athlete was able to open his mouth and speak on Friday. A family representative said that the 35-year-old was breathing on his own and added that he had spoken a few words. Sources also told ESPN that Odom’s condition had been improving slightly over the past 36 hours, but he remained sedated as doctors worked to make sure his organs functioned properly. He?has been in the hospital since Tuesday surrounded by his family. Late Thursday night, his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian said her family won’t be posting content online while attending to his health crisis and thanked everyone for their support.?Various reports have said that he is “not out of the woods yet” but this is at least some positive news, and we hope that he continues to make a steady recovery.

The former athlete is reportedly in a coma and had spent the past few days partying. TMZ reports he was attending a party at a brothel in Nevada when the incident occurred. He was rushed to hospital yesterday afternoon by ambulance after his body was found – he could not be airlifted due to his height, according to the authorities. Various media outlets are carrying quotes from sources which indicate the prognosis is not great. His heart is said to be failing and his lungs and kidneys are also struggling.

The Kardashian family have rushed to be by the 35-year-old’s bedside in Las Vegas as he battles for his life. The family have yet to comment on the incident.

Lamar Odom became even more of a household name in recent years thanks to his marriage with Khlo? and his appearances on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The couple separated in recent years and finalised their divorce in July. There were indications the break-up was not entirely amicable after Lamar publicly confronted Khlo? outside a SoulCycle class in recent weeks. The exchange was heated and Lamar said in follow-up interviews that he believed Khlo? was his ‘soul mate?.
