Three new beauty books every beauty lover should own

You may judge these books by their covers. We’re in the Golden Age of beauty books, people. The following three industry legends have released their insider insights to us mere mortals and now, your hair, skin and make-up woes are a thing of the past.

It’s also worth noting that, while not new, Sali Hughes’ beauty bible Pretty Iconic was released last month in paperback. It’s a guide to iconic products throughout history for true beauty nerds. It’s poetry written in lipstick and should be required reading for anyone who has ever grieved for a discontinued product or is still looking to find The Right Red Lipstick.

The Skin Nerd: Your straight-talking guide to feeding, protecting & respecting your skin by Jennifer Rock (Hachette Ireland, approx €20)

Jennifer Rock, The Skin Nerd, creator of Heaven and Earth The Cleanse Off Mitt has put all of her skinformation into one faff-free guide. All the skingredients to know and avoid, how to treat your skin from the inside out and creating the perfect skincare routine for you – the book reads like a peep into her very knowledgable brain.

Validated! by Val Garland (Laurence King, approx €40)

She’s an industry icon, known for her radical and unorthodox creativity and for producing some of beauty’s most memorable looks and campaigns. Val Garland has spent two years collating all of her expertise into one glorious encyclopedia of tips and hacks, coupled with anecdotes from her peers. If you love a behind-the-scenes peek at the fashion industry, this is the book for you.
