This €20 cardboard desk from Lidl is the WFH solution we’ve been looking for

This €20 cardboard desk from Lidl is the WFH solution we’ve been looking for

At just €19.99, Lidl’s desk is perfect for those temporarily working from home

When the lockdown first started and most of us were asked to work from home, it seemed a short-term situation.

We set up shop on dining tables, sofas and even in bed, making at home, makeshift offices the new norm.

But now that we’re working from home a few months longer, a more long-term solution is needed.

Unfortunately, buying a desk online has been increasingly difficult. A quick search at Ikea, Argos and other home stores show most desks are either out of stock or way too expensive.

After all, why invest in a desk that will just gather dust when you return to the office?

Fold-away eco desk

Lidl’s new fold-away desk offers the perfect temporary solution. It is incredibly affordable at just €19.99 and is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified.

The eco-friendly desk is made entirely of recycled cardboard and is easy to put together and deconstruct for storage.

Its best feature, though, is that it can be adjusted for sit or stand options, so you can alternate between the two and relieve your lower back from sitting-induced discomforts.

In fact, standing desks have been proven to significantly reduce the risk of shoulder and back pain, help burn more calories, and boost mood and energy levels.

Having this adjustable height option is ideal for those of us feeling a bit stuck in our at home routine.

The desk’s assembled dimensions are: Sitting (W 920 x H 780 x D510 mm) and Standing (W 920 x H 920 x D510 mm).

It will be available in all Lidl stores across the country from today, June 25, so be sure to grab one while stocks last.
