Ice cream shops, cheesemongers and kids’ clothes, here are the shops open in Dublin city centre right now
Did you know that some Dublin shops never closed? Their operation specifics kept them in business throughout the quarantine restrictions.
And thankfully, due to the start of Phase two this week, other stores have started opening around Dublin city centre too.
Here are six Dublin stores you can shop at right now.
The Celtic Whiskey Shop on Dawson Street, near St Stephen’s Green, has kept its doors open throughout the pandemic. They sell a wide range of spirits, and the shop is split into two sections displaying their specialties: whiskey and wine.
They’ve been offering giveaways and whiskey auctions on Twitter. It’s a great place to find unique whiskeys and gins and have them delivered to your door too.
Marks & Spencer on Grafton Street has also remained open, keeping their ground floor available to customers. At first, food shopping was the only section available, but they’ve recently started moving a few other things downstairs as well.
Now, homewares, lingerie, pajamas, slippers, plants and hair products can also be purchased. Customers can also buy anything on the shop floor if they bring it down to pay for it like kids’ clothes, Pixi and REN skincare products.
Yesterday, M&S also reopened their coffee shop, so make sure to treat yourself to an iced coffee after shopping.
We were eternally grateful when Sheridan’s kept up online deliveries during lockdown, and now, they have a call and collect hatch on South Anne Street, where customers can buy tasty cheeses, sourdoughs, jams, wines and more.
Their online shop is still going strong with almost 50 Irish artisan and farmhouse producers listed offering delicious foods and heavenly Cloud Picker coffee as well.
Boots opened a new branch on Dawson street late last year with an emphasis on sustainability. The store has brown paper bags instead of plastic, loads of natural products, a refillable water fountain and a full pharmacy.
Customers’ favourite beauty products are available as well as health promotion initiatives like Alcohol Awareness, Asthma Let’s Breathe Easy and Healthy Heart Support.
There’s nothing quite like a cone of piled-high gelato on a summer’s day. Sun Bear Gelato on Dawson street is open and recently added new flavours to their menu too. (Vegan options are also available).
Be sure to call in your order beforehand to adhere to their call and collect guidelines. The shop recently dropped off some ice cream to frontline workers in Mater Hospital — one of the many reasons it’d be great to show the small business support.
Nespresso on Duke Street reopened yesterday, so customers can finally replenish their coffee capsule supply or pick up a barista-style machine to make espresso at home.
They are open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on Sundays from 11am to 6pm. Online delivery is also available with a two to four day waiting period.
