The Rock Welcomes A New Baby

We’ve had much love for Dwayne Johnson AKA ‘The Rock’ this year. He has a busy movie star slash wrestler life, but he’s a big softie underneath that huge exterior. He made headlines for doing a multitude of genuine good deeds: he adopted a puppy, saved another with his namesake, and?generally melted our hearts helping others. And as the end of the year is nigh, this baby news cheered us up mightily after the months of celebrity heartache we’ve had to endure.?The 43-year-old was also recently praised for his empowering comments on overcoming depression and anxiety.

He took to Instagram today?to announce (in the loveliest way), that he and his wife, Lauren Hashian,?welcomed a new baby daughter into the world and just look at the picture. Christmas came early for the Johnson family:

Christmas came early! Within minutes of being born she was laying on daddy’s chest. And being a grateful man takes on a whole new meaning… Thank you guys so much for the awesome congratulatory wishes and love you’ve been sending @laurenhashianofficial and myself. We’re extremely grateful. Kinda crazy but in this cool and powerful skin to skin bonding moment with my newborn baby Jasmine, I had just one wish I asked the universe… Give me the strength to be a better man today than I was yesterday. If I can accomplish that, then I’d have a good shot at being a great father. To all you young men out there who will be fathers one day, the goal of “being better” will never steer you wrong. Trust me I’ve been down this road. Something else that’ll never steer you wrong is “walking thru the fire” with your baby’s mama. I was right there during labor, helping her breathe, every highly intense contraction, every second of pain, right there watching the actual birth, cutting the cord and wiping the tears. Incredible. *(Now don’t get me wrong boys, it wasn’t like I was at the end of the table, squatting like a catcher waiting for the fastball to come down the pike.. but as men, it’s a miracle we should witness because it’ll give you a whole new respect for the strength and beauty of a woman). Baby Jasmine (gorgeous name) is beautiful and the caption below the snap is tender and heartfelt (though?he does make it sound?like he went through the birth himself, he gives due credit to his wife).?We particularly love when he says: “As men, it’s a miracle we should witness because it’ll give you a whole new respect for the strength and beauty of a woman.”

The Fast & Furious star is already dad to 14-year-old daughter, Simone, but he sounds (and looks) overjoyed with his?new baby. He family man recently said that his home life was of the utmost importance to him: ?With all the cool s?t and success that I’ve been lucky enough to get? That doesn’t happen unless the home life is solid,? Johnson said.

Fingers crossed we see more adorable moments?because a huge man holding a teeny baby is something we never tire of looking at.
