WORDS Katie Phelan
THEY ARE Sara-Kate Wilson, Pharmacist and Thoma Reeve, Senior Strategist.
THEY MET
On a New Year’s eve night out in Manchester during Sara-Kate’s final year at university.
WE LOVE
Sara-Kate’s tousled down-do; soft bohemian waves to complement the bride’s gorgeous 1960s broderie anglaise?gown. Less really is more.
THE WEDDING
Organising a wedding while travelling the world may seem like a hare-brained idea, but these eager lovebirds did just that. From finding a venue to booking accommodation and photographers, Sara-Kate knew that time was of the essence if she and Thomas wanted to secure their preferred suppliers. Dress shopping began in earnest as soon as the bride and groom returned from their travels. After trying on scores of uncomfortable designs, Sara-Kate found “the one”: a full-length, vintage, white broderie anglaise?gown with an empire waistline and gently flared?hem. Sara-Kate and Thomas allowed for plenty of quirk and whimsy on the day with Arco, a Belfast-based string quartet, reworking Bon Iver’s “Perth” as Sara-Kate walked down the aisle of St Mary’s Church in Dregish.
THEIR GUESTS SAID
The relaxed nature of the day impressed the couple’s guests. Sara-Kate and Thomas made sure to prioritise the comfort of their friends and family by taking care of accommodation bookings and transportation.
THEY WISH THEY HAD
Although the couple thoroughly enjoyed their sightseeing honeymoon to Venice, Rome and northern?Croatia, a chilled-out beach escape might have been a better bet after the stresses of organising their do.
