For one night only, the coolest gig in Dublin?

VENUE?South Studios and The Dublin Food Co-op?PHOTOGRAPHY?Friends, Family and Queens Of Neon??WORDS?Katie Phelan

THE HAPPY COUPLE?Meet?Aoife McElwain, Food Writer and Niall Byrne, Music Blogger from Dublin. These two met at a gig in 2007 and fell in love bonding ?over food and music.

THEIR WEDDING A wedding event so perfectly curated needs its own title so Aoife came up with LOVEJAM – an ideal amalgam for this hip Dublin pair. The couple enlisted the awesome Fatti Burke (known as Kathi to her friends) who absolutely aced the design aesthetic for the bash with her cute, hand-drawn crest and skinny text. Crafty friends and creative acquaintances were roped in to help deck out the venues and provide some really cool tunes (fitting, when Ireland’s slickest music blogger also happens to be the groom). Aoife and Niall were very much hands-on in creating a cool and comfortable atmosphere for their guests; that everyone should feel welcomed was a top priority for the couple. Fairy lights and a folded paper installation over the dining tables in South Studios created an atmosphere perfect for the prettiest of parties. The food, while it may have resulted in many a sleepless night for self-professed eating enthusiast Aoife, was plentiful and thoughtfully prepared. It’s never good when rumbling tummies are heard over the speeches, so the couple made sure that snacks were served with regularity throughout the day – a very clever move if you ask us!

Their super suppliers? The best investment this duo made? ?Hiring Fatti Burke to create our LOVEJAM logo?. By using the services of a creative professional, Aoife and Niall had a solid design direction for the whole event; everything from the wedding website, to the menus and thank you cards carried Kathi’s text type and graphics.

Their best memory? ?How loved we felt. All of our friends and family did so much for us to help see our vision of LOVEJAM become a reality. We will be forever grateful.?

They wish they had? Used a different hashtag! ?For two people who are quite internet literate, we’re a bit scarlet that we chose a hashtag that was already in use. We should have used #lovejamdublin, but I had such bride tunnel vision about the name that I stubbornly pushed ahead with #lovejam?.
