Krispy Kreme asks customers to “stop beeping their horns”, as residents complain about noise

Dublin’s latest doughnut sensation Krispy Kreme has had to release a statement asking customers to quiet down, as cars in the queue for the 24-hour drive-through have been beeping their horns at night while waiting.

The eatery, which only opened last week in Blanchardstown, has had a steady stream of queueing customers since its opening, both on foot and in cars. It is one of the brand’s biggest outlets in Europe, and its only one in Ireland.

Many residents of the area have complained about the noise levels since it opened, with cars arriving late at night beeping their horns while in the queue. People have taken to social media to voice their concern at the constant level of crowding and noise in the area:

In the statement released on their Facebook page, Krispy Kreme said that the reaction to the store opening “has been overwhelming”, but recognised that nearby residents had been adversely affected by the store’s success. They apologised for the disruption, and said: “We’re reducing the number of cars queuing late at night, installing signage that asks drive-thru customers to be respectful of our neighbours and other customers, and we’re also actively asking people to contain their excitement, by not beeping their horn while they order”.
