Police in Reno, Nevada have launched a murder-suicide investigation

US police have launched an investigation after an Irishwoman was found dead in her home in Reno, Nevada along with her husband and two children.

The police have named the woman as 53-year-old Joan Huber, who, it is understood, was originally from Co Kerry.

Joan was found dead at her home shortly after 11 am local time in Reno, along with her husband, 50-year-old Adam Huber, and her two sons, 17-year-old Adam and 16-year-old Michael.

The local medical examiner’s office said that all four died from gunshot wounds.

The Reno Police Department has said that it is treating the case as a suspected murder-suicide, but that it appears to be an “isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.”

The Department of Foreign Affairs said it is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.
