The Venice Film Festival is one of the Big Three – along with Cannes and Berlin – to unveil the most anticipated offerings in film due for release over the coming months. The 2017 festivities are a big deal, not least for the host of major stars who attend – but because this year, four-time Oscar nominee Annette Benning will preside as head of the jury – the first woman to do so since 2006.

Julianne Moore, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lawerence and Kirsten Dunst are only some of the stars who attended and ranked high in the red carpet style stakes from Dunt’s tired polka-dot Rodarte’dress to ?Susan Sarandon’s fabulous custom-made black Hugo Boss number. Other standouts are Seyfried’s semi-sheer Alexander McQueen and Moore’s striking silver Valentino?Couture.
